About
South Texas ISD Virtual Academy is the district's stand-alone virtual school established in the fall of 2021.
South Texas ISD Virtual Academy serves students in grades 6-12 from Cameron, Hidalgo and Willacy Counties. Because STISD is a public school district, there is no cost for students to attend, and students are accepted for admission on a first-come, first-served basis. Best of all, STISD schools maintain an open enrollment policy, so all students from the tri-county area served are eligible to enroll.
The Virtual Academy offers students the opportunity to take their core courses and electives 100% from home, with instruction and programs designed specifically for a virtual setting and teachers trained in this area. Virtual Academy also offers Career & Technical Education (CTE) courses, and has recently launched a new partnership with South Texas College, through which students enrolled at STISD Virtual Academy can receive up to an associate degree in the field of business, all 100 percent online. Tuition is free, and equipment is provided.

Virtual Academy Announces New Dual Enrollment Partnership with South Texas College
South Texas ISD Virtual Academy recently announced a new dual enrollment partnership with South Texas College, through which eligible students can receive a certificate and eventually an associate degree in the field of business, all 100 percent online. Tuition is free, and equipment is provided.
